I was back on roller skates again for the first time in too many years, thanks to an invitation to P.O.W.E.R Organization's fundraising event hosted by Latoniya Jones. Her organization helps children aged 7-16 increase their confidence, competency, and proficiency with math. In my head, I was movin' and groovin' to the sounds of the seventies, but the reality was much different. Ridin’ Detroit

When traveling, one of may favorite things to do is to bike an area. I've seen several places on two self-propelled wheels. Vancouver's Stanley Park & Granville Island, Ontario's Pelee Island, Michigan's Mackinac Island, St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands and now, closer to home, Detroit's Dequindre Cut. In Canada, I watched the news daily. If I wanted to know what was going on in the world, I'd turn on CBC and watch. It never occurred to me that news could be one-sided, or sensationalized, it always seemed to be told from a position of neutrality. I am so not a reality tv buff, but I think the Chevy Challenge should be a made-for-tv reality show. The concept is brilliant. Yay Chevy! Take four community and social media active people from 9 locations across the USA. Give them a Chevy to drive from their home city to the South by Southwest Conference & Festival. Wax my What? My 1st Ms. Esthy Visit

I've been home waxing for several years but recently stopped because my hair became so fine it was difficult for me to remove it with one fabric tear. I also found the process too time consuming. Last year I attended a conference where Tiffany stood up and spoke to the presenters about promoting her personal waxing services. I was immediately impressed by her professionalism. Last night I visited the OnStar Command Center. I was just a tad bit excited but I think I managed not to embarrass myself. Except for being so smitten with my surroundings that I didn't see the gift on the seat and sat on it - several times - before noticing it. Doh. Jersey Boys Rocked the Fisher Theater

Between Christmas and New Year I decided to introduce my two teenage boys to a little theatre culture.
