Dog-gone Spell Reversal
During the divorce negotiations, the dog went to my ex. He’s since reconsidered and I was notified today I’ll be keeping the dog from now on. I had chosen to shut out how much I missed having Caesar in my life on a daily basis. I’m beyond excited to have him home full-time; he’s putting [...]

Visiting in the Rain
This was today’s visitor, they often hang out at the end of my lawn where there is some flooding or fish in the shallow water beside the dock. This is the first one I’ve seen actually ON the dock. Wish I had a lens that let me get closer. This was taken through my rain [...]

A Most Unusual Playmate
My favorite time to get out in the kayak is on a still early evening while the sun is 3/4 finished it’s daily journey across the sky. Tonight, I decided to explore the small waterways branching off the main lake for the first time this season. As I pointed the front of my kayak into [...]

The Shivers
There are two things giving me the shivers lately. All this cold damp rain… and snakes. Finally got out on the deck for a minute to soak up the sun and found this guy doing the same thing…. My deck is on the second story… that is one BIG SNAKE. The other sunny day this [...]

Winter Swans
I found this image taken by my father during his visit at Christmas. I generally find the grey winter skies depressing, but the beauty of the winter wonderland swans swimming, guarantees my spirits a generous lift. I took a video last week too…

Stephen Clark Got Me Watching the News Again
In Canada, I watched the news daily. If I wanted to know what was going on in the world, I’d turn on CBC and watch. It never occurred to me that news could be one-sided, or sensationalized, it always seemed to be told from a position of neutrality. I moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1999 [...]

Attitude Is All I Got!
I don’t enjoy gambling, not at the casinos and not in life. If I decide to do something, I ensure all the odds are in my favor through careful planning. When I signed up for the Commerce 5k run I thought it was a realistic goal for me. Up until 2007, I hadn’t run since [...]
